About us
Kia ora, tena koutou, tena koutou, tena koutou katoaGreetings, greetings, greetings to you all.
New Zealand Lacrosse (NZL) was created in 2020, after the independent Men’s and Women’s associations agreed to merge.
As the national body for Lacrosse in New Zealand, we oversee local and national competitions, and are proud to be the hosts of the 2026 Asia-Pacific Men's Lacrosse Championship.
Our local organising committee has over three decades of event management experience across a range of sports at national and international level, including World Cup, World Championships and Paralympic Qualification Tournaments.
Our objective for this tournament is to provide all participating teams with the best opportunity to excel by utilising the most advanced high-performance sports facility in the Southern Hemisphere, while experiencing the manaaki (hospitality) of a New Zealand-hosted sports event.
NZCIS consulted mana whenua (local Maori tribe) to establish their core values which embody inclusion, belonging, and hope. Values that they believe are important to everyone, including our lacrosse teams.
Together, we are bring our strengths to deliver what we believe will be an exceptional experience for teams, officials and volunteers alike.
